Making A Skirt

The process behind your skirt.

Most often for me, the fabric directs the design.
I have this fabric that has a hologram type of pattern, which looks different from every angle, which is great when you wear it!
I didn’t want to put any seams on this skirt, as I wanted the pattern to stand out, and not feel restricted by seams….. and as they say, I wanted the skirt 'to go with the flow'.

The best way for me to achieve this is by creating on a mannequin.
1. First by getting a feel for the fabric and design. This is what you see with the purple fabric.
2. Then making the pattern and then checking it, in another fabric, as I don’t want to lose the initial idea. This is the black gold fabric that you see.

How To Wear Your Party Skirt.

I always like to get the most wear, from each garment. With these skirts, initially, you may think they're evening skirts as they're glittery and shiny but I added a jumper and jean jacket, to show you that you can wear your skirt, through the day, and in Autumn & Spring too.

How would you style your skirt?
