Eleni's Gown
Eleni originally had a mermaid silhouette in mind. I find a mermaid silhouette is a bit tricky for a wedding dress, and feel it needs different volume for a bridal silhouette. The mermaid silhouettes that are advertised are deceiving and not always realistic for a bride. Our first fitting had more volume than Eleni wanted, but I wanted to show her how different silhouettes could complement her figure and suit her more. It's a process that involves more work, but at the end of the day it's beneficial for the bride as she gets too see what actually suits her.
The top part of the dress had beaded lace, which, when it reached the skirt part of the dress, we cut around the lace and hand-embroidered it on to the satin. We used the same lace for the sleeve-straps for the flower girls' dress, which matched beautifully.
